UAB Selma Family Medicine is a rural family medicine residency program affiliated with the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Currently there are 4 faculty physicians and 15 residents. The teaching hospital is Vaughan Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Lifepoint Hospitals out of Brentwood, TN.
Company History
UAB Selma Family Medicine was founded by Dr. Donald Overstreet in the late 1970's. Over the years, approximately 165 family physicians have graduated from this program many of whom have remained in either the Alabama or Southeastern Region of the United States.
Benefits
In addition to a retirement plan with the Teacher's Retirement System of Alabama, physicians are eligible to participate in the TIAA-CREF plan out of Atlanta, GA.
Depending on the financial situation ot the program at the end of every fiscal year, productivity incentive bonuses are available.
