Kansas City University (KCU) is seeking exceptional candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) in Joplin, MO and Kansas City, MO at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position reports to the Vice-Chair of the Department of OMM.

Kansas City University is a dedicated community of professionals located on a North Campus in Kansas City, MO and on a South Campus in Joplin, MO. KCU is fully committed to its mission, vision and core values, striving to live them every day and wrap them into all aspects of the university experience. Excellence in education, research, patient care and service to our students and the community are integral to the fulfillment of our mission to improve the well-being of the diverse communities we serve.

KCU opened its second campus in Joplin, Missouri in 2017. KCU-Joplin is the first medical school to open in Missouri in nearly 50 years and it’s the only medical school in the Southwest region of the state. Nestled in the southwest corner of Missouri, the city of Joplin is home to approximately 50,000 people with 400,000 people living in a 40-mile radius, making Joplin the 4th largest metropolitan area in Missouri. With a quarter of a million people coming into the city for work or health care daily, Joplin is a medical hub in the South Central U.S. with two major hospitals, Mercy Hospital Joplin and Freeman Health System. But with a growing, aging and rural population, the problem of providing adequate health care to its residents for the long term was on the horizon. KCU rose to the challenge and opened the first medical school campus in the southwest region of Missouri. We place a strong emphasis on patient-centered primary care and rural health to help address the growing need for physicians in the area.

Founded in 1916, KCU is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher education accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation, and is recognized by the Coordinating Board of Higher Education for the Missouri Department of Higher Education. Today, the University is the 9th-largest medical school in the country, the second-leading producer of physicians for both Missouri and Kansas, and the leading educator of primary care physicians for the Midwest region.
